Wonder how many people have missing lifetime electric and combined efficiency indicators in their myvolt.com page.

I know I do.

It took several rounds of tech support with OnStar before it was fixed for me.

I was told it is a server side issue.

OnStar was very good at taking care of this after I broke thru the first level of scripted support techs that answer the phone.

My lifetime MPG is OK and looks accurate. I just have dashes for kWh/100 miles readings. I have brought this up to OnStar many times and have seen no correction of the issue.

Question for the Mods: Would this be a good thread for the new OnStar Customer Support area on this forum? If so, do you want to move it?

I think many if not most Volt owners have experienced dissatisfaction with respect to MyVolt.com's unreliability, inaccuracies, and a general lack of data integrity. I know I have and repeated complaints to OnStar and MyVolt Advisor have not resolved this problem; at least not at all in an expeditious manner.

Recently, a few weeks ago, ECOHUB was announced by some GM bigwig which promised to be a belated benefit to VOLT owners using cell phones (Android and iPhone). I have asked MyVolt Advisor when this will be available, but not surprisingly, no information was given. In fact, the "advisors" I spoke with claim they never heard of ECOHUB.

Imho, all MyVolt Advisors should be REQUIRED as part of their job to spend at least one hour per day READING this forum, so they remain up to speed on all things Volt related!

They have a couple of advisors that read the forum extensively. Considering the few quirks with the Volt, the ever increasing number of new Volt drivers (alright!), and the handful of advisors for all of us, I think they are doing a decent job. Could they know more and communicate better? Yes, we all could :)

I am more concerned with the OnStar telematics and the apparent hesitation on part of GM to resolve the various software issues with OnStar and provide software updates for the Volt.

I've been going back and forth with onStar forbthe past month about the "--" issue in my lifetime stats, ans similar issues in my monthly diagnostics email. I've been passed between 4 separate onStar folks and no one seems to be able to help... Most don't even know what I'm talking about when I outline the problem. I shudder to think what my call log actually looks like. Each call has resulted in the tech telling me that someone will get back to me in 3 to 5 days. Each time they call me back (if they do) i get passed to someone else, where i have to start completely over describing the problem...and then I'm given the 3-5 days answer again. We'll see how long this lasts...

I just heard back from onStar regarding the problems with Lifetime Efficiency reporting on the myVolt.com site. The official response is the lifetime efficiency stats is unsupported data at this time. It's there, but isn't officially "released" yet, so it's just a placeholder. Why it's on the site when it's known not to work I can't say.

I get a feeling that what they told you is only partially true. The whole site is freaking unsupported. And to add an insult to injury OnStar killed voltstats.net and now are touting their own idiotic replacement, Volt Driver Challenge, or some such.

Hey OnStar, you want a challenge? How about delivering what you have committed to, fixing the existing myvolt.com and giving access back to voltstats.net?

Hi vdiv,

We are working to improve myvolt.com to be as useful as possible. The lifetime MPGe stored in the Volt is reset during certain service events. This is why it is not currently supported.

The website voltstats.net has been restored as of November 18th.

We are committed to listening to our customers and providing quality customer support and service.

I am sorry for any frustration. If you have any questions, please PM me.

I am more concerned that sometimes the myvolt.com site (AND the Android app) both suddenly can't connect to my 2013 Volt anymore. They work fine for maybe a couple of hours, where I periodically refresh to make sure it's still recharging OK (otherwise I might have to take a trip downstairs to the parking lot to check on it). Then suddenly they lose touch, and can't get the charging status, can't get anything from it. But if I DO take a trip down to check on it, it's still charging just fine, the green light's happily green on the dashboard.

For mine, I've had dashes until today.
The 30-day and lifetime should be the same, as my car has less than 30 days of actual use, but they are not the same.

Edit: although now when i look, i see it only has 2 days of data.

I was having this problem for the first 3 weeks I had my volt and finally last week it started logging charging data and effirciency and mileage info. It never had a value for the Lifetime kwh/100km tho it had a value for lifetime L/100km.

Then for no reason this morning I got the "unable to update". But not only is it not able to update but it lost the info it had collected. The myvolt website is definitely the biggest source of frustration with my volt. The car itself is awesome!

Even when it collect data values, the precision it reports is pretty useless.

1. L/100km in whole numbers? at this level of efficiency .1 L/100km is a huge change!

2. Rounding kwh charging info 10 1kwh increments. This is 10% of battery capacity. This should be .1kwh at least

3. Tire pressure data only updated once a month. This data should be updated each time it connects to the car to get charging info. Otherwise it's pretty much useless and doesn't need to be on the home page. I had a low pressure alert on last months diagnostic and I saw that annoying orange triangle all month until the most recent diagnostic report.

I am told an update is rolling out to myvolt dec 16th so lets hope this fixes these issues. Otherwise I'd just rather not be teased with this feature that's perpetually broken. Just don't offer it.
