Your going to have to ask the dealer you bought from, nothing to do with a manufactures warranty

 

You are referring to the EVSE. The charger is a different piece of equipment located behind the right front bumper.

 

Yes I mean the evse. to me that's the charger. As in the wire that runs to the outlet is my cellphone charger. The wire that runs to my garage outlet is my car charger. I don't know what part your talking about that's behind the bumper.

 

He's talking about the unit that charges the battery (the silver box with the orange cables plugged into it in these images below). Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment is just that - supply equipment.

 

It IS probably covered. If your dealer resists replacing it... Call your Volt advisor at (877) 486-5846 and tell them you feel "unsatisfied" with your EVSE and they will help "adjust" your dealerships attitude until you get a new EVSE. That's what the Volt advisor program is all about... Helping YOU feel satisfied with your Volt.

looks like my evse crapped out
is it covered by the voltect warranty 2016 , 30000 miles

 

Yes the EVSE would be covered but not by the Voltec warranty. The EVSE would be covered by the 36 month bumper to bumper warranty provided it has not been altered or damaged, i.e. cord cut or the J1772 connector broken, by the owner. If the dealer determines that the EVSE was damaged by lightning then it may not be covered.
