Excellent! Desperation is the first sign of a losing battle. Good luck fighting the tsunami of new energy.

Sadly, there are enough idiots in the world who believe everything they see on the internet (or selectively believe what they want to believe, then call everything else fake). It would be interesting to evaluate how many people have health issues from mining coal, drilling for oil, and breathing polluted air.

I wish nothing but bankruptcy on the Koch brothers.

What are the three stages of knowledge
1. Blatant denial
2. Violent opposition
3. Universal acceptance

We are finally moving into stage 2

actually...:)

A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it.
— Max Planck

In Scientific Autobiography and Other Papers, trans. F. Gaynor (1950), 33. Also seen paraphrased in shortened form as: Die Wahrheit triumphiert nie, ihre Gegner sterben nur aus. (Translated as “Truth never triumphs—its opponents just die out.” More loosely paraphrased as “Science advances one funeral at a time.”)

I face-palmed at the part in the video where it says "And many of them end up in landfills"... 'Cause you know, many people just throw away their EV batteries.

Interesting that so much of the argument rests on their understanding of the word, 'rare', when actually the term, "rare Earth", means that it is not found deposited in lumps like gems, gold, coal, or oil, but rarefied like upper atmosphere. It is abundant, but spread out a great deal, meaning the raw earth needs to be processed a deal to concentrate and purify the wanted material.

Doesn't surprise me that those rubes have never heard of rarefaction.

The big issue that they have to deal with now is that they've been publicly outed as the oligarchs they are, and the U.S. public is in a very populist mode. The rabble they've been stirring up the last couple of decades can very easily turn on them at this point.

A similar thing happened in the nineteenth century when Edison waged a horrible campaign against Tesla (then at Westinghouse) to try to stop AC. It was called the War of Currents. Edison attempted to brand AC and Westinghouse with the electric chair. Edison's company once demonstrated killing a horse with AC. The superior technology won out but it took far longer due to Edison's efforts. It will be the same with EVs and PHEVs vs ICE. The technology/costs trajectory certainly favors EVs and PHEVs.

I love giving OPEC the finger and am not shedding a tear about oil barons losing their livelihood. Solar, wind, and other forms of alternative energy is where we are headed. It seems that Europe is way ahead of us in putting solar panels on nearly every house to offset having to run generators. They like their tiny cars with little engines and manual transmissions... something that us Americans don't seem to embrace. Since we love our pickups, SUVS and minivans (which aren't quite so mini any more).

Edison also killed an elephant. Later in his life he felt so guilty he became an animal rights supporter.

In any case EVs are a gnat when it comes to energy needs, the US makes electricity with US natural gas and coal mostly, and buying oil from the middle east is not something the Koch aholes have been endorsing.

It's most likely a fake news webpage to provide ammunition for Green Government Spending which is multi-billion industry just to the investment bankers alone, not the green companies, which often lose money. Spending tax money is all profit.

We are easily manipulated. You'd think that site would be national news if billionaires were promoting it. It's low budget stock manipulation most likely.

EVs are nt gnats. They're mosquitos. Small, but the greatest vector ever.

More EVs mean more, cheaper batteries.
More, cheaper batteries mean more cheap, renewable electricity.
More cheap, renewable elctricity means more EVs and more electric heating.

For people with large fossil fuel investments, the concern is not EVs and renewables eliminating fossil fuels, it's taking a big enough chunk that supply pressures are relieved and prices fall.

I wonder if those Koch brothers still use a hand crank in their cars, and have no A/C or any electric powered devices in the cars.:)

The Department of Energy gave a Texas-based energy company permission Tuesday to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) to countries with which the U.S. does not have free trade agreements.

Golden Pass Products will build an LNG export terminal capable of shipping 2.21 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) of natural gas around the world. It’s the first LNG export terminal approved by the Trump administration, adding to the already 19.2 Bcf/d of exports approved by the Obama administration.
