This site does not appear to have a "For Sale" forum, so I am putting it here (Admins please move if necessary).

The SPX Power Xpress EL-50600 is now selling for $949 (plus tax and shipping) on the SPX website. The EVSE is new and in the original box. It includes the EVSE, NEMA 6-30 plug (or it can be hardwired), 18 foot straight J1772 cable, mounting bracket, and manuals. I have since decided to purchase the Schneider EVSE instead.

I will sell it for $826 (my cost) plus shipping. This is about a $180 savings over buying it from SPX.

Please PM if you are interested. Thanks!

Well there are a few benefits. It is a transportable unit with a plug. Some people like that option. Some feel that the 18 foot straight cord is superior to the coiled cord on the Voltec.

It also will allow for charging at 12, 16, 24 and 32A settings while the Voltec is only 16A. While this may not apply to the current Volt, the next version will most likely support 7.2 kW charging. It is one of the cheapest EVSEs to support multiple Amp settings.

Full disclosure is that it will not support the 32A setting unless the J1772 cord is upgraded as well as a NEMA 6-50 plug.

MOD NOTE: We're discussing it. Not so much as a response to Volt owner needs and wants, but as a way to organize dealer and aftermarket retailers. The Volt accessories forum may be a more appropriate place for this particular post, but IMHO not much.

Why wouldn't anyone just get the SPX Level 2 for $490. It's the cheapest one out there and does the same thing?
NON-MOD response:I believe the Power Xpress is safety certified as transportable (it can have a plug). The SPX Voltec unit is not. I'm sure there are other differences, but that's the largest that comes to mind.

MrEnergyCzar, he is not selling an SPX Voltec L2 EVSE, he is selling an SPX Power Xpress L2 EVSE, which is now $949. The Power Xpress has a smaller form factor, is transportable, suitable for plug-in installations, and capable of charging at 32A (with cable/connector upgrades), whereas the Voltec is larger, not transportable, only intended for hard-wire installation, and can only charge at 16A. So there is a difference and the 2 EVSEs should not be confused or considered equal (and I'm sure the Voltec is probably the best L2 EVSE solution for the majority of Volt owners).

MTNRanger, check your PM, I know of another option you might be interested in.

I've already got a couple spots to charge, but can always use a third, lol...although I don't ever see a time I will be charging all 3 EVs at the same time.

You should find buyer that will give you what your asking, but if you don't, I'll give you $650. Not trying to nickel and dime you, I just don't really 'need' one all that bad, or specifically with a plug-in option. Just saying if you can't find anyone and you still want to unload it...I'll take it.

LOL @ Statik
Why not make it an auction! (you may even get MORE than your asking Ranger!)
I'll "raise it" another $50 (a min bet?) to $700 + shipping...

Power Xpress for sale

Hello to all in the forum.

This is probably the best place I could find for this post; I'm a Nissan LEAF owner and have an SPX Power Xpress charging station that I have used for about a month since I took delivery of my vehicle.

The station works great and it has never failed to charge the car using the on-board start timer, but it does not communicate well with the Nissan when it comes to the end timer (the one that estimates when to start charging to achieve the desired SOC at a fixed time in the morning). I believe this is not a problem for Volt owners, and according to SPX, the station is designed mainly with the Volt in mind.

In short, I would like to get a different one, maybe a Schneider, therefore, I'd like to post it for sale if anyone is interested.

The unit is currently priced at $949 plus shipping and taxes, so it is about $1040 at the end. I will listen to offers but would like to offer it for $800 plus shipping.

I have the original receipt, original box, and the installation of the pigtail with the Nema 6-30 plug is done so it is plug and done.

I should mention that the Power Xpress is rated for outdoor use as long as there is a cover over the outlet and plug.

Thank you!

Thanks for the welcoming message, I will try to become familiar with this forum as well, as at the end, we are all part of the big plug-in family.

I can confirm that the Power Xpress works flawlessly with the Volt on regular and delayed charging.
