2012 Instrument Cluster problems

Hey all, I haven't had my Instrument cluster in my MY2012 Volt for about a year now. I've gotten by with other means for speed, but it's starting to really bother me. I have plenty of other issues with the volt, but this one takes priority right now. Does anyone know how to fix/replace on of them? Dealer quoted me $1300, so I'm hoping for something less than that lol. Also, does anyone know if it's possible to transfer over/keep the mileage on the old one? I've kept it plugged in so I can see if other lights on the sides come on, but I'm trying to make it work, in case someone else needs to drive it. Thanks in advance,
Slade

Looks like you just need to change out the LED panel. A simple job if you are at all handy. If you just change the LED panel you don't have to fiddle with the mileage displayed.

Type "replace Chevy volt instrument cluster" into YouTube, there are a few videos on how to change it.

That said, there are a few threads here that address the issue, this is just one.

This guy struggles a bit to get the trim bezel off but his illustration of the repair itself is good and it seems to have worked for him. Have you tried pulling the fuse or disconnecting the 12 volt battery? At least one video says that fixed it for them although I suspect the fix may be only temporary.

Appreciate the support, I have unfortunately already replaced the LCD panel as well as the fuses and battery. I'm looking for someone who potentially does this on the side with tools to program them, or has a way to make it work for my vehicle. Any other ideas? I may have missed something. I did already replace the LCD screen and try replacing the capacitors on the back with ones rated at the same specs. Thanks a bunch,
