I would like to tint the windows in my 2017 but wanted to be sure there isn't any issues doing so. For instance, i recall that on my older BMW, you can't use any type of metallic-based tint because it disrupts FM/AM radio. Houwever at the time (early 2000's) metallic based films offered the best solar reflectivity performance
If there are no issues, what's the latest technologies in films that I should be aware of?
For me, heat reduction was important as well as the look. In the tint shop I used they had a Wincos demonstration heat box, comparing the Wincos to other tints the shop used. The heat reduction was vastly different among the 4 samples with Wincos being the best by far.
Thanks in part to Froggert,
see this thread I started, I ended up choosing the Wincos. I've only had it for 7 or 8 months, but I've been very happy with my decision, keeps the heat out (the windshield is an issue still when driving into the sun, could be fixed by applying some product there too) and looks great.
One key thing to note is that the quality of the installer is very important. Check the Yelp reviews, that's what I did and led me to a great shop.
