Yes, when you are stranded by the road, you are forced to walk, thus enjoying Mother Nature in the process (citing recent recall notice and pause of all deliveries until Chrysler can figure out a fix for the powering off while running issue).

Referencing the Chrysler Pacifica while it is in the middle of a complete recall?

Certainly, it's a case where Fiat/Chrysler contracted out to a marketing firm to get the word out, then the problem hit, and the contracts were already signed, projects put into motion, and the ads and sponsored posts are happening.

The good news is that most soccer moms looking for a hybrid minivan don't lurke on this forum. But it does beg the question of why Toyota or Honda haven't come out with their hybrid minivan. I don't count the Prius V as it really isnt' a hybrid minivan - it's a maxi Prius. I doubt the mainstream media will pick up on this one. If it was Tesla then it would be all over the airwaves/internet.

But I still got a chuckle out of this sposored post

Yes but you can carry a team of Shetlands for when the van won't go.
Shetland dogs or ponies are still too small to pull the van. And the van is too small to tow a horse trailer with two horses. You need a 3/4 ton pickup and a 2 horse trailers with 2 horses to pull this off...alas, the horses could pull a Pacifica, they cannot pull the 3/4 ton Suburban and the horse trailer. I think that tow truck is looking nightly fine right now.

This takes me back to the days when I wouldn't leave home in a Chrysler vehicle without at least one spare ballast resistor in the glove compartment. Even my mother knew how to swap them out.

Chrysler/Jeep/Fiat has the worst reliability record of any mainstream manufacturer... I'll pass!

Auto guide owns this site. AG does listen to site moderators so it's possible the mods either haven't notified AG or it's simply the weekend.

Very true. If the subject had been for a 40 gallon per mile coal roller then the forum mods would have some grounds to stand on. But there are sub-forums here about other, non GM EVs and hybrids.

Chrysler is the first company to realize that parents might like to reduce their daily transportation costs by making hybrid technology available on a family hauler. And yes, despite all the negative connotations of mini-vans, they are the ideal family hauler - easy to load and unload, versatile, and in many cases more comfortable than SUVs.

My family still has standing orders to shoot me if I purchase one. For years I've been considering replacing our suburban with a newer one, but now we are faced with becoming empty nesters 3 years earlier than planned (the youngest is headed to a very academically intense boarding school). So other than the trips to move her in and out, I can now start thinking about a 2 door coupe funmobile. It was cheaper for me to buy a 6x12 foot cargo trailer, borrow my son's Tacoma TRD and not worry about family hauling. Heck I could rent an SUV or minivan for those few occasions that we might want to travel and still come out way ahead.

I still intend to get one of these babies to replace our 2007 Grand Caravan, but probably waiting for the next model year now.
