I was just checking what each window was tinted to straight from the factory in a 2017 volt. It should say on the window.

Just in case someone stumbles upon this thread in the future. The answer is that all windows are at 70% including the windshield. At least that's what's listed in the bottom corner of each window.

TIL, windows have a tint number on them, even from factory. Is this standard on most new cars or has it always been the case? I recall numerous markings on my windows, but never thought to look at them as I assumed they were vendor-specific and needed a magic decoder ring to understand.

On my 2016 Volt I just purchased, while in the garage the windows don't look tinted. However, if you pull it out in the sun, the windows darken up significantly, kind of like those prescription glasses. I am not sure if tinting my windows will even be needed at this point. What experience has anyone had on tinting the windows on Gen 2.
