The weather here in Phoenix is finally cooling down, and I've been driving my 2018 Volt for the past week with no AC and no freeway driving. Each day, my range creeps up a bit, and this morning, I saw 71 after a full charge. Drove 4 miles to get a coffee, and it still reads 70. Curious to know what others are seeing as the weather cools. Anyone get to 80?

It is definitely possible to achieve 80 miles of range on just the Volt's battery. If you can find a level secondary road with few stop lights and little traffic, maintain a constant 30 - 35 MPH. The challenge is that the minimum allowable speed limit, except for farm equipment using the road, is likely to be faster than than the speed you would need to maintain, you would risk being an obstacle to traffic or a victim of road rage.

If we stay off the freeway, we typically get 65 to 70, running the A/C on the Eco mode - This is driving it 40 or 50 miles and then adding in the range remaining estimate. I've never actually run it far enough for the engine to start on it's own

You'll never get as low in Phoenix as we do in Minnesota. Last winter, the first with our 2018, it bottomed out at about 35 miles on the coldest day.

At that point it's below 15° F, so we start to get ERDTT. That should limit at least a bit how much below 35 miles it could fall on a really cold day.

We don't scrimp on the heat either.

I have the heated searts and a 12 Volt plug in electric blanket so I can't be part of the test group.
