What is the key inside the Bolt EV Remote?

On my bolt remote, if you press a little side button the bottom section (where the ring attaches) slides down and out exposing a key on hidden inside.

I can't, for the life of me, find anywhere this key fits on the car. Where's it go? What's it for?

In this day of key fobs, remote start, and smartphones someday some kid is going to say "what's a key" just like my youngest doesn't really know what a record, 8-track, or cassette tape is.

"He" is a she, and her bedroom doesn't have a lock that requires a key. Any small screwseiver that fits the small hole will work.
