Like many GM product owners in Canada I did not subscribe to Onstar when the free trial ran out. We have 2 2016 Chevy Sparks and a 2018 Chevy Volt no onstar for us in any of the vehicles. GM just shut down its call centre in Sydney NS on Friday and 600 folks lost their jobs. Is Onstar still active in you cars and trucks. Never had occasion to use it and the one time we did it was by accident because my wife happened to press the button while adjust ing the mirror in one of the Sparks and could not figure out what the voice was all about. Part of the problem is I hate subscriptions services so I don't have a cell phone, amazon prime or make donations on an auto withdrawal basis, ditto for cable. Since one of my Sparks is up for sale I am wondering whether to tell any prospective buyer that it is an option.

Not quite correct. ServiCom who was handling OnStar calls went out of business.

It seems that ServiCom has been working for OnStar for a little over a year.

GM OnStar will have to contract elsewhere.
