It seems like early August has been the best time for Volt deals the past few years. Even at other times of the year, there was *some* deal posted. But for the last few weeks there is nothing posted on forums...dealers aren't responding to my inquiries even.

Anyone know what's going on? I would love to know what current deals people are actually getting right now, so if you signed a deal recently please let me know.

Every years is different. I used to keep tabs by looking at Rydell's web page but the pricing has been removed there. When last I saw the discounts were in the $4K-$5K vicinity. That's close to 15% so not shabby. If you want to check try cars.com.

No deals tells me GM has a relatively low, as in below target count, of unsold Volts in their lots. The number of unsold cars on dealership lots doesn't matter as those cars have already been "sold" under the rather byzantine sale counting rules the automotive industry uses.

Also, the really big deals were during the transition from Gen1 to Gen2...dealers dumping their Gen1s

Due to slow sales of cars like the Buick Lacrosse and Chevrolet Impala (built on the same line as the Volt). The GM Detroit-Hammtramck plant had an extended summer shutdown. Volt inventory is a bit on the low side and 2018's are just starting to roll off the line. So you might not see any deals until September and they might not be as good as they have been in the past.

As Mister Dave pointed out in another thread...car sales have continued to slump for the past 7 months...
http://news.morningstar.com/all/dow...p-in-auto-sales-extends-to-7th-month-wsj.aspx

<Despite falling sales, the three companies aimed to protect their bottom lines by trimming incentives for car leases. Auto makers have banked on such discounts to keep consumers' monthly payments low as sticker prices soared because of a market shift to heavier trucks and sport-utility vehicles, and technology aimed at making cars smarter, safer and more efficient.>

There seems to be a slight glut of Bolts and production has slowed/halted temporarily. I can see there is a push to move Bolts over Volts, therefore little deals to be had.

I got my fully loaded 2017 Volt Premier with ACC for $5200 off MSRP with 0% for 60 months deal (additional $1000 off if I don't take that 0% finance deal) last Sunday 7/31. That is not counting the $9000 to $9500 rebate/incentive from Fed, CA and SCE.

You're right that the deals on purchases are still there. In fact, with the $3000 private offer I received, it's arguably better than ever.

When I wrote this post originally I should have said the Volt *lease* deals have disappeared.
