Well it finally happened to me reduced propulsion/ service high voltage and CEL OnStar code is P1EDC lithium ion battery not preforming as expected or bad module take into service. Well the honeymoon is over no automatic car loners for volt owners, waiting on a ride home to use the old gas burning PT Cruiser.

Sorry to hear this. Obviously you don't have an extended service plan or an auto insurance policy that covers a loaner, but aren't you still in the warranty period? If so should be automatic.

Might be many things including a bad 12v battery or low coolant.

Your warranty should cover the repair, good luck and please report back as to what actually failed and what it took to fix it.

Most (all?) don't do loaners around here anymore, but they should be providing a rental if you're under warranty...

My 2013 with 51,000 miles is in the shop right now for a warranty repair (its been two weeks and it is still not fixed). If it is covered under warranty, you get a rental car paid for by GM. The caveat is that it has to be a GM vehicle. I believe they pay up to $30 dollars a day, and they get a good discount. I am driving around in a Camaro right now. Your service advisor will be able to send the rental car agency (Enterprise in my case) a code to pay for the rental. I did have to put down $200 refundable deposit.

Ok guys it wasn't major in fact there is a bulletin out for 2014 and 2015s to reprogram the the lithium ion battery control modules it was done in 3 hrs the bad part was redoing all the settings in the config cause it reset it back to factory settings. My 2015 volt has 25,000 miles on it. So everyone with the 2014 and 2015 gen1 volts go take care of this it is covered by GM.
