I have the weather option on my 2016, I think maybe it goes along with the navigation package?

Here is the main menu screen, weather icon on bottom right:

I noticed in the recent ArsTechinca Volt video and in this Verge article http://www.theverge.com/2015/10/31/9647204/gm-phil-abram-infotainment-carplay-android-auto-interview
a Weather app icon in the infotainment system. I don't see that icon in my new 2016 Volt.

Does anyone know what the story is with this mystery Weather app?
SiriusXM Travel Link Weather is available only if you have the navigation option and are signed up for SiriusXM. See page 70 of the MyLink manual found at the link below.

You're not missing much. I had my trial Sirius XM and tried the weather app. The apps on my smartphone and tablet are much fuller featured, and they are free.

Well, that explains it... Damn, I couldn't find a manual for the 2016 Volt, didn't even think to check a "various models" one. Good catch!!

Weather app is SiriusXM subscription needed.
