VW has received more than 144,000 orders for its ID.3, with over 50 per cent of the buyers new to VW.
The high demand for the ID.3 and other ID. models has made Volkswagen the market leader for battery-electric cars in Europe in the first half of 2021. 26 per cent of all battery-electric cars registered in Europe came from the VW Group. To meet the high demand, a total of around 1,200 units of the ID.3 come off the production lines in Zwickau and Dresden every day.

Just for comparison, Tesla sold about 67,000 in the first half of 2021. But it seems to depend on who is counting and maybe how they count. Other reports show VW at 92,607 and Tesla at 74,842. And of course some Tesla sites claim Tesla is the sales leader, no matter what.
Regardless, EV sales are growing in Europe.
