How about a bouncing ball that some kid might be chasing?
I think it would miss the ball but see the kid. Apparently kangaroos confuse people as well as they're by far the most common animals involved in collisions in Australia.

Maybe. I'm guessing it might be other factors like terrain, speed, and more kangaroos in Australia than any other animal to hit.
