While researching the Volt vs WA incentives, I was aware of the $150/yr fee. Hoping I can get away with not paying it like donstim did by renewing online.

I did benefit, however, from the sales tax exemption (up to I think $30k of sale price, and I paid sales tax on remaining $2k of the price). So I guess the annual $150 fee is covered by the $3200 I saved in sales tax for the next 21 years.

jsmay311, I don't quite follow what you mean by "that doesnt' help anyone who bought a Volt before the sales tax exemption was expanded." I thought the sales tax exemption changed from the previous limitless cap (so $50k EVs are free of sales tax) to a $32k cap where remaining purchase price required sales tax. So in my case, I purchased my LT for $32,107 and only paid sales tax on the $107 portion. Are you referring to prior owners who purchased higher-end Premiers prior to the July 1st EV sales tax change:

I'm misunderstanding something.

As for the flat tax per-gallon, that can't be pleasant to owners of gas-guzzlers. I can get behind the per-use tax for our highways as MarkMessinger mentioned. Until of course, I start paying more than $150/yr. ;-)
