I recently installed a Voltec 240v L2 charger outside. It's actually mounted on a 4x4 cemented into an old car tire. ( I rent and didn't feel like dealing with thinking about where to mount/drill into the owner's house ) The tire provides Plenty of mass for the little plastic Voltec unit. I have "liquidtite" pvc conduit going directly from the unit's bottom 3/4" port to the load center.

Has anyone added extra sealing tape, or done any mods to seal up the unit? I noticed that the bottom isn't seal very well, I'm assuming that's to drain anything that does get past the foam seal tape or condensation.

I'm thinking about putting a small "roof" over the unit just to keep rain from directly hitting the unit.

Roof would be nice. Something to keep in mind, insects like wasps like to make homes in things outside.
