I had 2 problems with the Volt to Moto X pure edition bluetooth pairing.
Other phones paired and worked flawlessly

1st issue was that the phone wouldnt see the car, I resolved this by deleting all other devices and adding the Moto X first

2nd issue is on going, she can connect to the car and make calls through the cars head unit BUT the audio/microphone on the phone is being used and not the hands free equipment on the car.

I looked through the cars settings and everything appears go be good, but on her phone when you go to the bluetooth paired list the car shows up, but when you click on it it has 2 boxes

[] Phone Audio
[] Contacts sharing

the contacts sharing is selected, but you try to select the phone audio and it will not stay selected.

Any ideas?

I had this happen when my Droid Turbo 2 was updated to Android 7 some months ago. Pretty sure it was a permissions issue.

I made the phone forget the car, and then deleted the phone from the car. During the re-pair process, the phone popped up a few permissions prompts that I had to answer Yes to. Once I did that, everything started working properly. Prior to Android 7, I never received these prompts on my phone when pairing devices.

Thanks I will try that

I had this happen on a Moto G. You need to "clear the cache partition" (google it). Something in the phone's memory is scrambled.
great info, thank you, I will try that out. I know its telling her that she needs to free up memory.
