I am thinking about getting a rear seat center arm rest. Does anyone have one of these? Do they take up too much room? Are they worth it?

I have one and took it out. Almost never are the rear seats inhabited and the rest interferes with having a flat cargo area with the seats folded. (I also removed the rear headrests for improved rear visibility.) When it was in, it rattled though I understand there's a fix for that.

This is the rear armrest in my 2015 volt.
It is factory mounted on a metal frame, and it can be removed by a button quick release if you need to fold the seat down to haul anything

You can't just buy the armrest. The whole rear center console has to be replaced.

Here is an article I posted many moons ago on rear console purchase and installation (for a 2013 Volt with black cloth interiors). It has part numbers as well: http://gm-volt.com/forum/showthread...read.php?66386-Rear-Console-Armrest-Installation-2013-Volt-Black-Cloth-Interior

Back then, the new part cost me less than 150 bucks.

It appears that the part numbers were updated. Here is the link to the current part numbers (Black and Beige)

This place has it for cheaper, but I never used them
