Man it gets worse !!! I felt bad when it was backdated to January 1st ... but now its November 10th ... I picked mine up on October 28th !It sounds like they'll send you a cheque for the difference as the EVIP incentive recipient.
"If an eligible electric vehicle was purchased/leased between November 10, 2015 and February 9, 2016 with a MSRP less than $75,000 as of the date of purchase/lease, the incentive is based upon the new February 10, 2016 incentive values. Where there is an increase between the old incentive amount and the new incentive amount, the incentive difference will be paid automatically to the EVIP incentive recipient."
Decided to call MTO and see if there was a rationale for the date .... Once I had explained the new incentive to the person on the other end, and directed them to the updated page of their own website .... I was told, and I kid you not .... "perhaps you should have bought it in November instead" !Man it gets worse !!! I felt bad when it was backdated to January 1st ... but now its November 10th ... I picked mine up on October 28th !
I just tweeted out to @OntMinTransport as the phone staff are clueless but as early adopters I get the feeling we are going to be s*** outta luck !Aaany idea who we should speak to about this date, mine was first G2 in Ontario, Oct 14 !
You and me both ... I miss out by 13 days after taking delivery on 28th October. asked about the 2016 models rather than dates but got nowhere (no-one really knew)I always seem to miss out. Bought my 2016 Volt in Oct/15. Should be by model year bought, not when you bought it.
Sent a message to Mr Del Duca through the MTO website and also externally to his parliamentary email address. Did get an automated response that it was received from the MTO site, now waiting for the boilerplate letter rejecting the suggestionnot sure it would have any impact but considering writing to the minister and my own MPP asking they review this decision and change it to specify all MY2016 deliveries (cant be many up to now that are not already getting the rebate) and only impose the deadline date for any MY prior to 2016. Think this would be a fair compromise although anyone who just bought a 2015 might disagree with me (understandably).
