I have a 2014 Volt that was involved in a minor hit and run. I need to replace the driver's side front fender and most replacement fenders claim to only fit 2011-2013's. Was there some sort of minor change for the 2014-15 model years or will any gen1 replacement fender actually interchange? Thanks in advance for any insight.

The front end was reinforced in 2014 to improve the offset frontal collision performance. Don't know if the fenders were changed but there's a reason why they might have been.

That is interesting. I'm hoping a 2013 fender would fit my 2014(they appear the same) as they're considerably more affordable. It's not worth running the hit & run through insurance so I'm trying to find my most affordable option. It's ALWAYS frustrating when someone else damages your car yet you're stuck with the bill and the aggravation!!

I thought starting in 2014 the Volt no longer had the remote control/button to pop open the charge door; you have to press on the door to open it, sort of how the gas filler door works. That might be a reason there's a difference between the 2013 and 2014 fenders.

I believe this may be the issue but uncertain if it can be overcome with simple modifications.

It's agreed there is a slight difference, but no one actually seems to know what it is. Oh well, I'm taking a chance on ebay hoping for the best.

I too need a replacement for the RF fender on my newly purchased 2012 Volt. I was going to get one through the vendors on ebay that offer pre-painted fenders. I wanted to get a genuine GM part off of a used car, but have been scouring salvage yard listings for awhile now, and have been unable to track down an undamaged black fender in my area.
