Base Volt
Msrp 39995
Invoice 39212.11
Hi Rick,

In another thread on this forum (titled "My January Volt Deal"), another poster claims that the Invoice price he got from other sources (like KBB or NADA or Edmunds or whatever) for the Base Volt is $38,429 and not $39,121 like you're showing here.

Would you care to comment why there's a discrepancy? Thanks.

I use the actual factory invoice and provide them to my customers when asked or on occassion when I send quotes over my I phone.
The factory invoice is not a true cost, but a common tool used. I sell Forum members at 2500.00 back of invoice because there are things like hold back , advertising and possibble factory Incentives. This is why I try to refer to invoice and not actual cost. Some discount off msrp (like Rydell). Since there is usually a large amount between Invoice and MSRP my discounts are more substancial.
The reason some websites say costs are lower is because they pull some of the other charges that the factory passes on to us out.
I hope that helps ?
Rick

For the base, it's actually $283, which is more than a couple of hundred bucks.

In my case (base plus premium color plus safety 1)
Keyes: $38,125
Rydell: $38,565
Difference: $440 in favor of Keyes -> not a couple of hundred bucks different

And the more options you add in, the wider this difference becomes, because the markup gets higher with more options added, so $2,500 discount off invoice becomes more significant than $3K off MSRP as you go up in price.

Correct and I guess we can do the math on more expensive Volts and watch the Keyes advantage grow :) All about more savings for Forum members.

My goal is simple .... To be the number one Volt Dealer in the Country and to be the number one Chevy dealer in the Country

Here we go again with the GM-4-LIFE shilling which comes moments after Rick posts. Real bad taste shilling for yourself.

Not sure if this was implied at my posts or not. Seems like it because GM-4-LIFE didn't even chime in before your post called him (or her) out.

As for me, I'm not Rick either. I'm a LEAF owner in AZ who's having Nissan buying back my LEAF (because of the battery capacity issue due to the heat), so I just bought a Volt from Keyes to replace my LEAF.

You can check me out at the mynissanleaf.com forum. I'm a regular contributor over there with over 1200 posts under the same alias (Volusiano).

I bought from Keyes because I couldn't find any deal in AZ that could come close to the one I found with Keyes. It made it worth a drive out there to pick it up (when it's coming in at the end of this month with this batch that Rick mentioned), because I go to CA often to visit family out there anyway, so it's no big deal for me.

Sorry bonaire, but Rick and I are not the same person. Check the IP addresses if you want or one of the moderators can. I am a legitimate Volt owner that just happened to purchase a 2013 Volt from Rick like several others on this forum have. I was treated so well and I got such a great deal, that I will refer family and friends to him if they are interested in leasing a Volt. Plain and simple.

I don't know what bonaire's deal is, but just because I chime in and praise a dealer's excellent service and prices doesn't mean I am the actual dealer. I mean, come on! Just like I said, check my IP address vs. Rick's or have a moderator do it. I guess everyone here that praises Rick after purchasing is just Rick with a different screen name. That's just ridiculous cause I am not Rick or have any benefit to posting for him. Because Rick was so great to me and offered me such a great deal is why I go out of my way to tell my friends and family to get a Volt from him if they are interested. I think it's time to drop it, bonaire. I am not going anywhere as I am a Volt owner and proud of that fact and I like being here a lot no matter you think.

I'm a member of the Keyes fan club too, becasue I'm also a fan of a good deal. Rick was great to work with. Best car delivery experience I ever had.

The Keyes deals are real and compelling, and they help get more Volts on the road. When you look at the bad comments they're always from people who didn't actually get a car from Keyes. Us happy customers all got our cars there and got great deals.

Sorry to any Keyes naysayers, but I must also report that my dealings with Keyes has been excellent so far and the deal was just as reported here. We went in armed with emails and quotes from this forum and the price we were quoted matched what were came in with. Had one minor issue with an add on alarm package. We realized we did not need the aftermarket package we were sold after reading the owners manual found online and found the Volts factory alarm system will be enough for us where we live. After pointing this out to Keyes, they quickly agreed to rewrite the contract and remove it since we have not taken delivery yet. I think being a forum member helped with this (plus we had not taken delivery) and part of the problem was caused by ourselves not knowing that the Volt already came with a pretty good alarm system in advance.

Now we are just waiting for it to get to the lot, hopefully with the wave of cars they are getting this week!
