I had been using an iPod nano through the USB port with no problems. I decided to use a thumb drive to transfer some MP3's to he HDD in the entertainment center. The next day, when I plugged in the iPod, it no longer appeared in the audio sources. All I could select was the HDD.

Resolution: I had not used the eject function to unmount the thumb drive before I unplugged it. To fix, I plugged the thin drive back into the USB port, selected USB as the audio source, hit menu, scrolled to Eject, and ejected he drive. The iPod then showed up when I plugged it in and powered it up.

This had the potential to be a frustrating problem, so I am posting here in case it happens to anybody else.

I find the need of rejecting USB drive is rather retarded. It only makes sense in circumstance where there is data being written to the device, which is not the case for playing MP3. Nice hearing the tips. Hope the next Volt software update may improve this.
