If you’re one of the people with an older Volt battery who is trying to keep your love alive, you might be interested in the enhanced Auto-Hold function just released in version 2.3 of the MyVoltControl app (iOS only!). As shown in the picture below, you can now set thresholds for a number of parameters and when these thresholds are crossed, your car will automatically enter Hold mode. (Works on 2011/2012 too.) You do need an OBD adapter for this. Give it a try!

Q: There isn't an android version right?
A: BarryD - That is correct, but old used iPhones are available for a low as about $30 on eBay.
Doesn’t need a SIM card or carrier plan.
Just make sure it’s iPhone SE or 6S or later (or equivalent iPad), eg iOS 13+.

Will there ever be an Android version incorporating this option?
Sorry man. I don’t have a window into the future. I can tell you it’s not going to happen soon, and it’s not going to be from me. Just buy an old iPhone SE or 6S or later.

The current version works with iPhone 6. The next release will require 6S (or later) but you can continue to run the current version.

BLE adapters won’t necessarily show up in the Bluetooth list. If it’s BLE, just try connecting in the app (per Connection Help document). If it’s not BLE: If you want cheap, I’d suggest this one.

You are right that iPad doesn’t work with CarPlay, but for all those without CarPlay, an iPad allows you to split the screen to run MyVoltControl and navigation at the same time (as you are doing with CarPlay).
