I don't charge on l1 often, but I've noticed now the charge level button is grayed out on the charging screen.
I have charge scheduling set up, so I thought it had something to do with that and changed it to charge immediately and it's still grayed out.

Only thing I can think of is it has something to do with the plugless charger installed. It's a fairly annoying quirk.

I have plugless also, but have not used the L1 charger since having it installed. Were you trying to use it at your home or some other location?

Other location.
Interesting, it's supposed to be a parallel installation that is not supposed to effect plug charging. I'll have to try it and see if I experience the same result.

I'll let you know my findings.

Just a thought, is there a vehicle setting that controls location charging?

Location based isn't available on Gen 1.....and as far as I know, plugless wasn't released for the Gen 2.

To the OP, Do you have access to another L1 charger? Perhaps during the communication with the L1 charger it's telling the car that the higher 12A setting is unavailable. Are you able to switch between 8 and 12 when the EVSE isn't connected? If so, does it go back to 8A when connected?

Plugless for Gen 2 is still in development. They've been more focused on the Tesla plugless.

no, it has nothing to do with the charge station, the button is grayed out even while you're driving or nothing attached, except the plugless, which is always attached. That's what leads me to believe that's the culprit, maybe the car senses it's attached to a L2 station already, all the time, so the option isn't available.

Website says it's under development, but I think there was a post here where they said they abandoned the project.
Perhaps it's the new Marketing strategy.

Maybe a Volt buyer is not the customer who they think will spend the new PREMIUM price they asking Now.

Your more likely to get a $80k plus car owner to pay up for the $4000 Tesla Plugless price tag.

Either way, I don't see how it could have been that difficult to adapt the plugless to the Gen 2 Volt. I Can't imagine GM made that major of a Chassis Change to warrant a complete redesign of the Vehicle adapter integration. But maybe there are bigger things going on that could be something like a Factory integrated option in the future.

Yeah, I dunno. It's certainly not worth what they're asking now.

We've seen this before on Gen 1 and I posted a fix, somewhere here... I think it happens when your center stack went through one of those crash and reboot cycles. I think the fix is to just turn off the car and turn it back on, the button will be selectable again.

I had the 12-amp charge button grayed out a week ago. I restarted the car and shut it off with the cord still plugged in and after messing with it the 12-amp button wasn't grayed out any more... I'm not sure what I changed to fix it or why it happened to begin with. I haven't had it happen since, but I've only had it a month now.
