For the last couple of days my turn signals made no noise whatsoever. The arrow light flashed on the dash, but no click. At first I thought it was some bizarre setting I touched accidentally, but today it's back to its usual clicking. Anyone ever see/hear this?

My gen one did this at one point. In my case it was actually resolved by doing a complete reset of the radio/head unit.
It seems like the same override that kicks in when receiving a cell phone call, got "stuck" or something so since I was having some other radio/multimedia quirks I went ahead and did the reset process.

I've never had it happen since.

My ELR does that when the NAV is actively giving audio directions. Or if a seat belt light is on. Or if an active voice/phone command/call is in progress. Basically anything that is using the audio besides radio.

This happened to me once in my 2017. At a traffic light, I shutdown/restarted the car, which restored the clicks. It hasn't done it since. I suspect some combo of phone/android auto that muted it, but didn't unmute.

Another random thing that happened the other day: The bell rang constantly, as if I left my headlights on. However, I couldn't find anything left on, and it continued after I left the car. I returned, and once again, powered it on, powered it off, the bell stopped. Who made the software anyway? Microsoft?

I have noticed a periodic problem that does not involve the sound from the turn signal. Rather the turn signal does not cancel when I use it for a turn of about 120 deg. What happens is the sound is on, but it and the flashing arrow on the display does not cancel when the slight turn is completed. In this case, I use the turn signal lever to cancel. It usually occurs at the same intersection that I drive in SF-not hilly but the road could be repaved because a bit bumpy. Doesn’t happen often so I mainly ignore this issue – haven’t bothered to ask the dealer yet about this.

I lost the turn signal clicker and the radio once after a forward collision alert. It came back when I pulled in to my garage and the system beeped to tell me "there's a wall!"

It's very strange to drive in complete silence. I felt like I had gone deaf.

Funny you say that, because the '15 Malibu rental my dealer gave me during my battery fiasco last winter was "Vista Certified!", so their old software was made by Microsoft! The new "MyLink" software (on all of the newer glass-touch-screen head units with Android Auto/CarPlay) is Linux, however. The build number shows up in the debug screen.
