Hello everyone! I am trying to buy an ELR and I am getting a little flustered. I live in North Georgia and tracking one down to look over and test drive was a bit of a challenge. I finally drove one and fell in love with it. Now that I know I love this car, I need a little advice while shopping. I would like a Black, low mile, ELR but I'm now sure about all the options that were available. Here is a list of my most important questions...

In the 2014's, did they offer the heated and cooled seats only in the Kona?
My budget is max $35k, can I find a New ELR in that price, or do I need to stick to the preowned ones?
What are the positives and negatives to ACC?

Thank you in advance...

In my searches of cars.com there are very few new ELRs left, several used ones but again, this is a rare vehicle. Had the original MSRP not been $75k, I'd probably be driving one right now instead of my volt. Good luck - I'll have to leave those other questions for ELR owners to answer.

Since so few were sold or made, you might be stuck with what you can find within a reasonable distance. You could always get the car painted or plastidipped to whatever color you like.

Looking for a specific build on a rare discontinued car will be tough. Probably need to expand your search to the lower 48. I seriously doubt you'll find a new black loaded ELR.

Afaik none of them had cooled seating.

ACC is a whole discussion thread. Plenty of them here. Personally, I'm not buying a car without ACC or better.

There is an extremely rare Saks (white diamond) for sale on this forum in Florida. $35k even.

Shhh! Don't tell them, I want that Saks..... but you can't complain about $50k off MSRP.

I'd definitely look first at FloridaMatt's. That looked tempting to me and I already have an ELR! (JK).

At thing point I think prices will go up or stay flat before they go down. The ELR was a fantastic vehicle that got dissed by horrible marketing, but as the baseless internet meme of "a Volt with a nicer interior" dies a deserved death, it's looking more attractive.

If I had 35k to buy now, I'd buy FloridaMatt's ELR!
I have about well over $35k sitting in a bank account, but part of that is allocate for private school tuition for next year, my wife's back door Roth, a big tax bill that is coming, and paying down another big chunk on the mortgage to get the remaining balance Fromm 6 to 5 figures.

Noticed a Red ELR on Carvana the other day. $32k, 22k miles
That seems like an "ok" but not great deal. (Unless it was a '16!)

There was an immaculate one owner black/Kona 2014 w/20K miles for sale locally that I drove, only $29K asking. I don't know what they would have taken (I wanted a '16 but wanted to drive a '14 first for comparison).

There was a black/black 2016 for sale by a Cadillac Dealer as a CPO vehicle w/ only 10K miles for $39.9K in Bloomington IL a few weeks back. That seemed like a better deal to me.

Craigslist is a great way to find all the locally avail PP and dealer used ELR's in any market.

Bloomington IL? Although I don't want black, I'm dipping the entire car to a deep purple pearl anyway. I hope it's still there when I'm read to buy (which might be longer than I'd like).

I would suggest checking the remaining warranty period on the car you're interested in. Some low mileage 2014 ELR cars are out there, but the warranty starts when the car was placed into service. That said, if I were looking for an ELR, I'd be scoutin' some 2016 off lease, CPO cars. One nice thing about Cadillac service, is that you get some nice loner vehicles. I did notice that the CTS I returned had some really small mirrors, but no wind buffeting with the windows down.
