All of a sudden both my trip odometers reset themselves, both to zero and both at the exact same time. By themselves, I did nothing. WTF? Anyone else have this problem on their Gen II? Mine has about 6300 miles.

No. Check ground wire/ battery connections. Restart. If no luck, disconnect and reconnect 12v battery +. A good dealer may help, of course.

Mine did the same thing at around 5500 miles.

Wow...I just rolled over 6300 miles this weekend on total miles and also Trip B, which reset itself. Trip A is still going at just over 4000 miles, corresponding to my last gas station visit. Sounds like a common bug.

Maybe it is a 16 digit counter of tens of miles. 6,553.5 miles

Doubt it, but it would be the trip odometer Y2K.

I thought I read something like this does happen with lifetime MPG.

Any chance it was 6214 miles?

Inside a GM computer, everything is metric. Even on cars and trucks with analog gauges built after 1996, everything inside is metric.

6214 miles = 9999.9 km.

Must be a Gen 2 issue only. Gen 1 does not reset at that mileage.

My Gen 1 still has not reset after 5 years. Trip B is now pegged at 99,999.9 miles and 19.1 gallons used.
