I would like to run snow tires and rims this winter without the added expense of buying TPMS sensors for them. What will this do as far as lights, buzzers, or continuous chimes while driving because they are not present? Thanks.

It will popup a message every startup that you clear by hitting 'ok' and there will be the standard orange dash light for TPMS lit.

Honestly, a set of sensors doesn't cost much over the life of the tires. Get a set of 4 from ebay under $100 and you don't have to deal with warning lights (and you get the actual benefit of this safety system as a bonus!! ;))
Part number 22854866. Lots of listings for new under $100 shipped, for 4.

My snows have TPMS, $25 each. Never had a car before the Volt with a TPMS system. I love the psi feedback. For me, its as useful as the gas tank and battery displays.

But you can run without TPMS and deal with the annoyance.

It's getting difficult to get tires mounted without TPMS sensors if they were stock with the car. Liability and all that crap. I mounted snow tires for our Camry and didn't put them in. One thing to be aware of with cheap ebay sensors: some of them are old, and that's why they're cheap. The batteries in them last 8-10 years. So you need to get sensors that are fresh, or you may wind up replacing them much sooner that you thought. Batteries are not replaceable. BTW, they have a manufacture date on them.
