Has anyone tried to have the dealer reprogram the Volt's factory programmed sluggish throttle response? Can they?

I'd like to reduce / eliminate the delay before the car will respond to throttle input. The delay is annoying, and dangerous.

I'd also like to have the throttle ramp rate delays reduced so that when the car does finally respond to throttle input, it doesn't take 2-3 seconds to reach full fury of the insane 149 HP. Watch out Corvette.

Sounds like you're talking about the 2 motor to 1 motor transition time. Just the way gen 1 is. I've had a couple times I've been really annoyed by this, but it's rarely a problem unless don't have much margin of error. Kind of like an ICE tranny downshift time, or a turbo spooling up. But, yeah, know that it's there, kick it a bit first to make sure it's in 1 motor mode, then go.

Gen 2 fixed this with a new dual motor architecture. Both always run. So no delay.

Under what conditions is throttle response sluggish? Off the line, it is good to great! ('13)

I assume you use sport mode? It gives a much better accelerator pedal mapping.

If you are talking about the delay when you are at speed cruising and suddenly accelerate hard, that is for some rev matching and clutching in the transmission to switch modes, so that can't be changed. Takes maybe 1 sec.

The power is from the battery (mostly) with the Volt. If you are referring to the few second delay before gas engine RPM maxes out, it shouldn't impact your power since the battery is doing the work for the Volt. It is a little disconcerting though. It revs up to replenish and reduce the battery energy you are using.

To the OP.
I guess you've never driven a turbocharged car? Basically if your gen 1 does the switch from 1 to 2 electric motors (or back the other way) or if it's unlocking the gas engine it's really almost identical to "Turbo Lag"
