For many of us the electric cars just did not make sense, economically or feasibly. They're still not there yet, but very close. A number of factors must occur, Gas prices above $ 4.00 a gallon and battery perfection. The Volt is a major leap forward but only a start. It will still be a number of years, 5-10, before technology and economics mesh to sustain a viable electric car environment. Just look at the challenges like where do you recharge your battery? Parking lots do not have electric outlets at each parking space? It will take years to develop an infrastructure to sustain electric mobility. Albeit, the time has arrived! We need to support GM's efforts and participate as the pioneers in this new mode of transportation. 30 years from now, the internal combustion engine will be a relic of the past.
