"The ability to add new features and capabilities over the air, just like your computer or mobile phone. This is a car that will keep getting better the longer you own it."

And yet 2011 and 2012 Volt owners will never have something as simple as "Hold".

My little jab out of the way, Elon is a genius and a visionary. The "old guard" will always resist change in any way possible, so naturally they're trying to railroad his new model of selling. But in the end, progress always wins. I wouldn't bet against Musk.

The National Automobile Dealers Association is suing Musk and Tesla. They don't like this model, or the competition. They want to force him to sell and service through dealers. Based on the experience of many (not all) Volt buyers, the National Automobile Dealers Association should be addressing the issues buyers have with many dealerships. There are way too many bad dealer experiences out there. Fixing those does not involve suing Tesla. That's just sour grapes.

The public loves the idea of Tesla stores. And he has a real point: many car dealers can't or won't sell an EV. Shame on them.

The CEO Elon Musk said they should sell 20,000 next year. But he will not give out this year number.
Yeah but the question is how many have they built to date? Last I saw it was about 300 and the assembly problems were continuing. They supposedly have firm orders for several thousand but they can't get them built. So they can have the most gee- whiz sales setup in the world, but it doesn't do much good if they can't deliver the product.

As Tommy Lasorda so famously said, "This f___in' job ain't that f___in' easy!"
