So I recently misjudged the height of my liftgate vs the trim on my garage and tried to back out. The garage took more damage than the Volt did, but I cracked the plastic “lens” that goes over the third brake light. I looked at the part list on https://www.gmwholesaledirect.com/a...l4-electric-gas-engine/body-cat/liftgate-scat but part #12, the one I need, isn’t even named. Anyone have any idea what the official name for this is? I’ve had little luck googling because I don’t know what it’s called. I’m not even sure it’s worth replacing, but the crack is one of those that makes the plastic semi-opaque and is directly over the lights (of course).

Search for "Centre high mounted stop light", that's the "technical" term for it. You can probably find the lens that way.

Unfortunately, the 22766515 lamp assembly will not fit the 2016 Volt, according to the year/make/model crosscheck. The part name for item 12 is High Mount Lamp, part number 84001681, which, also unfortunately comes up as a discontinued part. It would be worthwhile to call a Chevy dealer parts department and see if there's a new part number to be released for this lamp or if they could locate one somewhere. It seems odd that GM would discontinue a part for a two year old car.
