To make it on time, Tesla decided to use Samsung SDI lithium-ion cells

They did not use Tesla batteries due to gigafactory being mega-bottlenecked.

Tesla doesn't manufacture battery cells anyway. They assemble packs and put their name on it.

Curious though how you turn a battery on. Odd use of words.
