The Tesla Model 3 is poised to make its European debut this month at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The American electric automaker will present its compact sedan at the annual motorsports gathering, which will be held from July 12th through to the 15th.

While some Model 3s have been spotted in Europe, it has never been officially shown to European customers and has yet to go on sale there. The car's Goodwood appearance will give prospective European Tesla buyers the opportunity to not only see the car in the flesh, but watch it race up the hill climb course at the Goodwood Estate in Chichester, UK, which is operated by the Duke of Richmond, Lord March.

"If reaction to the car’s launch in the US is any guide, expect  Tesla’s FoS stand to be mobbed by inquisitive enthusiasts keen to see what all the fuss is about," Goodwood's announcement said. "The Model 3 will be on show all four days of FoS, alongside its Model S and X bigger brothers."

While it doesn't typically participate in auto shows and other similar promotional events, Tesla has been a staple at Goodwood in recent years. It showed up to the event in 2016 with a Model X SUV and also attended in years prior with its Model S crossover. It may only become more active at Goodwood in coming years after it puts the second-generation Roadster into production, which would be right up the alley of most Goodwood attendees' with its claims of a sub two-second 0-60 mph time and top speed of 250 mph.

The Model 3 will make its European debut in a couple of weeks' time. For now, watch the Tesla Model X take on the hillclimb course at Goodwood in the video embedded below.
