Tesla Asia selling vehicles with insurance and maintenance.

Essentially, your out the door price is all you will ever pay for your Tesla except for electricity and depending on the car, that may even be included.

Part of the argument is that insurance companies are not lowering insurance costs for a much safer, easier to fix/maintain vehicle. They might even be self insuring their product.

Seems like an interesting concept.

I don't quite understand the relevance of maintenance costs, unless in these Asian markets "car insurance" includes stuff more akin to a "home warranty" in the US.

And before they get too confident about the safety advantages of Autopilot, they might want to read some of the customer accounts of the new AP2 systems. http://www.valuewalk.com/2017/02/tesla-new-autopilot-firmware-driving-drunk/
