I live in Massachusetts and walked through a local suburban dealer's lot. Some of my observations:

  • 5 Corvettes, including at least one Z06
  • more than a dozen Camaros
  • several dozen giant Silverado pickup trucks incl. many Z71

  • But only 2, count 'em, 2 Volts.

I guess it's easier to sell Corvettes than Volts.

Same here. Usually stocks 5 vettes, 1 or 2 volts, 3 bolts.

Update on 7/7, 1 Bolt, 0 Volts.

My dealer usually has a bunch. Today, 1 Bolt and 2 Volts. They say they only have 14 Silverados, but that can't be right. I've never seen less than 2 dozen. Maybe the Silverado buyers got a look at the 2019 and rushed in to clean out the 2018s. I almost did.

Sorry, my local Chev dealer doesn't sell Volts. Three Vettes, a couple Camaros, some SUV's, a couple Cruze's and about 30 to 40 trucks…..and this isn't even red neck country (that's one province over), it's a liberal, NDP, left wing country with free Chargepoints for EV's. What's wrong with this picture.

Anywhere outside of Pacific Northwest or DC area can be pretty light on bolts. But since current GM offers for Pacific Northwest and DC area are huge and up to $5k off, I don’t see other areas rushing to fill their lots. Shame on consumers really. Awesome car—- but everyone wants a CR V

My dealer in Nashua has dozens of Vettes, 1 Volt and no Bolts last time I was there in the spring. The huge number of Vettes is because they specialize in them, they claim to be the second largest Vette dealer in the country. The low number of Volts and Bolts is because they can't get them, the salesmen say they can only get a couple a month and that they get sold immediately.

I am noticing more Volts in town, for a long time I never saw any others but now I see two other Volts, all the same color (silver) as mine. I was driving towards New Hampshire the other day and I was behind another Volt all the way to Route 3, he got on to the highway and then as I passed the exit ramp from the highway another silver Volt got off, my first thought was that it was the same car but then it was clear that it wasn't because the first had an EV license plate and the second didn't.

Checked last week. Local dealer, Ocean Crest Chevrolet, Warrenton,Oregon. They have 3, 2017 Volts on the lot. All white with black interior.

One is a base LT. The other LT with leather, and the last is a Premier model. This is the land of the SUV and the 3 ton pickup truck, Volts are way down the bottom of the list for sales as the 3 leftover 2017 Volts prove....

My present GM Dealer, Caribbean Auto, where I service my Equinox, has no Volts or Bolts:

Yet the Nissan dealer, Adrien Nissan, which is across the highway at the same address, has ten Gen 1 Leafs and charging stations (PlugShare):

But my other GM dealer, Benitez Auto, where I bought my 1995 Buick Regal, has four Volts and one Bolt:

I have seen the white Bolt close up. My wife wants an EV to replace our Equinox but larger and with some luxury. Maybe one of my dealers will offer the Buick or Cadillac EVs in the future. Personally I wish for something such as a PHEV Cadillac XT4.

Wouldn't it make sense that they have stopped building 2018 Volts and are getting ready to start up production on the 2019s?

Have you checked Jim Ellis or Hendrick Chevrolet. When I bought my 2017 a couple of years ago, both had twelve to fifteen Volts on the lot. I haven't needed a dealer visit in a while, so haven't checked recently. Maybe as someone suggested, there's a shortage right now.

A search on cars.com shows there are only 44 new Volts within 200 miles of me (18 are Premier). That covers Austin, DFW, San Antonio, and Houston. Checking various dealer websites supports the low numbers. And I know some of them are already sold.

Inventory is razor thin here. And so are the discounts.

Nothing now... They said that demand has dried up since Georgia dropped their rebate... How different from California where I lived and bought mine...

I'm seeing 22 within 10 miles, 62 within 20 miles, 121 within 30 miles, but MA is a CARB state with a $2500 rebate. Going across the border if I look from Manchester NH there are none within 10 miles and only 7 within 20 and three of those are at the dealer where I bought mine in Nashua which sits on the border between MA and NH, NH isn't a CARB state and has no rebate. MA rebates apply to cars bought elsewhere, so it's possible that 100% of the Volt sales from my Nashua dealer to are to MA customers.

That was my plan years ago. Since my Equinox is still running well after nine years (only three service visits related to the StabiliTrack system), we now want a PHEV CUV. I am waiting for the PHEV Cadillac XT4. The Volt and Bolt are now not "big" enough.:)

I will edit my signature to correct the "need".
