This guys own many supercars (a few Ferrari, Porsche GT3, NSX, etc.) and he chose the Volt as his "bad weather" commute car.

He has an overall pretty good appreciation for the car.

Matt Farrah also has (had?) a gen 1 Volt

I'm sorry, this guy is just a narcissistic douche: I purchased this car for when the weather sux and don't want to drive my "real cars" and I get to park in better spots.

I watched the video, he seemed like a typical New Yorker to me. How many Californians buy volts just to get the green stickers to drive in the HOV lane? If one of my cars was a vette, I'd have another car for winter time. Alas, he did post the video and seems to thrive on attention via YouTube. You'd never see my face on YouTube, it's just not me.

No, the drivers that gets them a bad name are the ones driving like 97 years old grandpa.

He seeks attention on YouTube as he probably makes good $$ off of it.

I get free pay-bridge and free HOV access with my Volt, it is a plus that helps on deciding to get one.

Douche. Agreed. My play of his video was proceeded by a Viagra ad. How apropos.

BTW, please watch your generalizations about New Yorkers or Californians or anyone. We're not all douches.

Thanks,
Rick

In the spirit of it, the guy does choose a Volt as his winter beater vs. many other cars. This guy is playing the system all the way, why?, because he can!

Now then, if I could afford any one of his summer cars....

I don't care much about the guy's personality as long as he buys a Volt. He sounds like he appreciates it and uses it as intended, unlike some people who buy for the perks and never plug it in.

This is good exposure that introduces the car to a broader audience. He has over 400,000 subscribers, the video has over 50,000 views and 1700 likes in one day. Good stuff.

After a couple minutes I had to stop listening to that jerk. I feel sorry for his Volt.

I agree completely. I'm sure the guy is kind of a tool and posting videos that glorify speeding is nothing I condone, but he bought the car to serve mostly the same purpose the rest of us did. He says he's going to use it as a slop car, not that it is a piece of crap.
The video does not provide a ton of information, but it's a guy that regularly drives supercars (as I understand it) saying that he bought and enjoys this car, which judging by the comments, is completely off the radar to most people that view his videos.

These cars tend to convert you. He may end up with a Tesla over a conventional car for his next luxury/sports car purchase.

I thought it was a decent review overall. The nice thing about it is it shows how someone who apparently doesn't care about the green aspect of the car can find enough other virtues in it to buy, like, and recommend it, and to other motor heads, no less. The secret is getting out.
