Carscoops has taken spy photos of the 2018 Buick Regal covered with camoflague in Colorado:
http://www.carscoops.com/2016/05/u-spy-2018-buick-regal-sedan-and.html

according to the article:"Riding on the same platform as the latest Chevrolet Malibu, the next Regal will take advantage of GM’s smaller displacement turbocharged four-cylinder units, possibly offering a 1.5L unit alongside a newer 2.0L turbo engine. We should see a hybrid model and a replacement for the GS sporting a high-output V6 and all-wheel drive."

So there will be two hybrid Buicks models: the LaCrosse and the Regal.

Actually I doubt that it will have the 1.5T. It might get the 1.6T that's in the Casacada.

A Hybrid is certainly possible. However the new Lacrosse (on a long wheel base version of the Malibu platform) is also going to have the Volt based hybrid but it won't be sold in North America. It will be sold in China. So the Regal is also likely going to get a hybrid powertrain. Possibly even a Voltec like vehicle. However there is also a chance that it will be China only as well (which is unfortunate).

I really believe every GM model will show upwith some variation of the Voltec transmission, either as a full hybrid or as extended range EVs.
