Is Sparkie a taxi or is it's owner a masochist? 80,000 miles a year for 5 years is insane, that's at least 4 hours of driving every single day, fine if you are driving a truck but as a commute that would be horrible.

Here is a youtube made by Erick Belmer. The sound is low on my system but I think that he said he has replaced wheel bearings a few times due to potholes and debris. Working for GM has perks: he pays for labor, they pay for parts.

He drove almost 5,000 miles in August...so doesn't look like he's slowed down much at all. Maybe "closer" means only a 150 mile R/T commute instead of 200. Lol

That video was 15 months ago, and he's added at least 200 miles since Wednesday. "A lot closer" is pretty relative.

Anyone know if he's commented on capacity loss? IIRC, he's about 1/3 electric, so around 133k electric miles. Just curious if he thinks he has any degradation...

The loss is because of the tires he put on the Volt. He said in one commentary to the video he still gets his 38 miles per charge.
