spark ev range after full charge

I have recently been able to get my spark EV to charge up to a full charge and show 102 miles range. Has anyone else been able to see this type of range after a full charge? Has anyone else had higher? If so, pictures please. This car continues to amaze. I reset my trip odometer and set out for a drive to santa monica. The range was dead on as far mileage deduction from the 102 compared to the miles I drove going to santa monica. I think I could have gotten more out of it had I not had a few slight inclines to climb on my way Electronics Technology Multimedia Electronic device Car

Sadly, only CA and OR residents are blessed with being able to buy a Spark EV from their local dealerships. The rest of the nation eagerly awaits or buys used ones transported out of state.
The highest I've seen on mine was 137, but I averaged between 110-120 in warm weather. Right now I'm only getting 80-90 because I always have the bikes or kayak on the roof (yay summer!).
Saintyohann, any pics by chance?

Yup, to the OP impressive and I have Spark EV envy. With current credits for me I could buy a new Spark EV for about $16K. I would if I could. GM please make this car available to the rest of the country.
Anyone has seen the 2015 Chevy Spark EV? I am surprised that Chevy doesn't show it , yet the 2014 MY began selling in June last year.

This was my range about 5-6 days ago on full charge.

This morning I'm seeing 105 miles.
Hello I have just purchased a 2015 spark ev
I live here in the Portlan, OR. Area temp is around 60°. I did a full charge last night with the 120v only got 76 miles max read out and drove it 61 miles to depleat the battery to two bars forgot to look at the on star app to see what the pecentage was. The bars had turned orange and I had 12 miles left. I was going to return the vehicle due to it was not getting what I had read about and had determined the purchase on. The dealer said that the battery had gone into a dormant mode from sitting on the lot and that they needed to rest the battery. So short question does this seem right. Sorry for the long post and most likely poor spelling and punctuation. Thanks
Welcome to the forum!

I don't have a Spark, but if it is like the Volt, the estimated miles display is based on recent past performance. The amount of charge you can put in the car is the same between the level 2 and level 1 systems (240V & 120V), it's just the L2 takes a lot less time. Confirm that you have a full charge, see what the display says and drive for a couple of days and see what you get.

Here in the SF Bay area, I am on my 2nd Volt, a 2014, and have a 44 mile round trip commute. it's 90% on the freeway and is usually 70-80 MPH in the morning, much less in the evening. I am running at 41 miles of estimated range most days. I do drive with my headlights on Auto, use the radio and have the climate system on Eco at 70% (usually). I have no idea how people get their reported 45-50 of range, but more power to them.

Your dealer sounds like they may have limited actual driving experience with the Spark; few do. Folks here on the forum have way more real-life experience and can offer more advice.

So, to recap-make sure you have a full charge if you are interested in max range, drive for a few more cycles and see what you get. Be conscious of your headlights & climate control settings and enjoy the car!

Good Luck

I just did a couple pretty long trips in my 2014 Spark EV and averaged 5.3 miles/kWh over the flat part of the trip (not counting a large climb at the end). The total battery capacity is 18 kWh. Cross reference this thread. So 61 miles on 80% of your capacity seems a bit off, but not way off. Was it especially windy, or did you have AC/heat on, or was it a hilly drive? Those could all come into play--especially having the heat on. If you press the "leaf" button on your console, you can get to a chart which shows you the fraction of your battery power used on driving, environmental controls, and battery conditioning.

I'm not sure I buy the "dormant battery" mode. My experience with my Chevy dealer is that they know embarrassingly little about EVs. According to this youtube video, the battery goes dormant when the charge gets too low. It doesn't seem like that is your problem unless only certain cells within the battery went dormant, which I'd think would be automatically taken care of by the Spark's regular battery conditioning. I'm only conjecturing, though.

Hey thanks guys for the replies I really appreciate them. Well after a week of the dealer having the car I finally got it back. It was getting better before I dropped it off but they insisted that they test it and reset it and as they did it lost range big time went from 76 to 34 after the first reset then to 43 stayed there for a while then they realized it was from the test driving that it put a poor driving memory into the system so they started driving it real slow and now it shows around 94 miles max 83 is what the blue ball says and 75 for a minimum. I have a 54 mile round trip drive to work I would say 70% of that is highway with a couple good hills to go over at 55 to 58 mpH so far I'm getting around 4.2 kw/mile hope to see better as I get better at conserving my go peddle.

Thanks again for the help.
Had it up to 110 average after full charge,

but didn't get that pic..averaged 5.2 miles/kWh for first 500 miles.

I decided to run my Spark EV from full charge to almost empty while driving on surface streets only. I got 103 miles of actual driving with 5 miles left before the car dies. The total range would've been 108 miles had I let the car die. But I chickened out and decided to charge.
