Well, this has to be the first award of its kind. Last weekend, at the Cruisin’ for WBAL Kids Campaign car show, hosted at GM's Baltimore Operations plant in White Marsh, MD, a Tesla Roadster owner (Curt) took away this prize for "Most Electrifying" vehicle at the show, voted on by attendees. This award was built using parts from a Spark EV electric motor, built at this location. It was a pretty impressive prize.

Neat, what is neat to me is that a tiny winding can produce as much power as a fairly large I4 engine, and as much torque as a big V8. Vehicles would have been all electric a long time ago if only there were a lightweight source of electricity.
Interesting. GM has done some great work with motors.
The employees there are very proud that since the motor started shipping a few years ago, they have not received a single warranty repair request.

It's all about the power source/battery. I have looked at the skateboard chassis of a Tesla and marvel over how simple, clean and compact the Electric Motor/Inverter/Reduction Gear assembly is. Is stunning in it's design and dare I say simplicity.
