One more nail in CHAdeMO's coffin IMO.
CCS adopters:
- BMW
- VW
- GM
- Mercedes
- Honda
- Hyundai/Kia (just a matter of time till Kia phases out CHAdeMO completely)
- Ford

CHAdeMO:
- Nissan/Renault
- Mitsubishi (pretty much Nissan)
- Toyota?

Then there's Tesla with their proprietary standard.
So basically Japan's CHAdeMO vs the rest of the world.

Combo chargers will eventually fade out, too. As charger kW ramps up, even if Chademo's standards can keep up, the expense of having two heads and two cables for every single charge station will continue to go up. Jeff's article yesterday showed how complex the heads and cables are for ultra-fast DCFCs. Water-cooled head and cables. special low-resistance connectors. Duplicating that set up at every station just to accommodate the Chademo vehicles will get to be both old and expensive. Chargepoint, EVgo, etc. will not include it and Chademo will whither on the vine. CCS is better for the auto manufacturers, too. It is less expensive to install and more compact, as just adds the two DC ports to the the L2 J1772 charge port. It uses the same comm ports and cables. Less hardware, less cabling, less software.
