...how easy it is to close the rear hatch! It's balanced so perfectly you can literally close it with one finger.

On my 2017 the rear hatch fully closes and latches with very little effort provided I have opened one of the Volt's doors or windows (part of the way open.) Otherwise the Volt cabin's air seal is so tight that the rear hatch does not fully close and latch.

Happened to me, and many others, in the first few weeks of ownership. After having it happen only a few times, it stopped. Seems that it just needs a little time to move past this occurrence as things get broken in.

On the other side I don't like where the hatch opener is positioned. It accumulates a lot of dirt so it's rather easy to get your hands/gloves dirty while using it.

I would've liked if we could open it by using the remote, or if it was positioned differently like in some other cars.

If I leave a door or window open and the hatch is closed, I fear a shattered rear glass. But even with the doors/windows shut even my 5'1" wife can easily close the hatch.
