Why do I feel the need to add a Sharpie mustache on that face??
OMG! Now I'm not going to get that image out of my mind!;) It used to always remind me of my '68 dune buggy but other than that, it's not a bad looking car although when I saw the rear/ 3/4 view I was disappointed which kind of reminded me of my brother's '49 torpedo back Chevy which was kind of cool back in the day.

If you reserved the Model 3 in the first 24hrs, yesterday was the 3rd official change in the delivery schedule.

First was a move of 3 months, second was 3 months, third is 2 months. But this time they list the date with a tilde (~) which means it's a guess. The others did not have tildes.

A person who orders a Tesla Model 3 today could get theirs before a "first 24hr" customer gets their "First Production version" based on Tesla's published delivery schedule. That's really messed up.

Add me to that. Well done tripowergto! :D

Maybe a Lyft mustache?

That's what I was thinking!

It's curious to me that TSLA stock is still maintaining it's value when their cars are igniting and the CEO is sleeping on the factory floor to keep production moving.

If this were any other company like Target or GE, They'd be filing for bankruptcy.

Curious.

I hope this doesn't upset you but member SolarExec says he just got his second M3.

The Tesla Model S that ignited its battery while running is not such a "common case". But all these "Tesla fires" are caused by the Model S battery pack assemblies. They have hundreds of Panasonic 18650 aluminum-cased cells glued together, with welded terminals in parallel, and packed inside a clear plastic case. You can find images of these packs by doing searches at eBay and on YouTube.

If one cell fails due to heat or gas pressure, the cells bursts, sending shrapnel to neighboring cells, and causing a chain of broken cells. When the plastic case breaks open, air gets in and completes the ingredients for a combustion. That fire will continue to break down the remaining cells.

The LG designed cells and GM assembled battery packs in the Volt and Bolt use metal cooling plates between the thicker walled cells, which are bolted together. If one cells bursts, the plates add protection to neighboring cells. And as the pack case is thicker and sealed (see the Webb Auto disassembly videos on YouTube), the fire hazard is minimal. After eight years, I have yet to read or see any news about a Volt bursting into flames.

I expect Tesla to build the Model 3 packs better and more heat resistant, but if not, we will see more "Tesla fires" happen, even with the Model 3. And that will kill Tesla's market!

... And that will kill Tesla's market!
Dunno. It's a pretty resilient clique.

"My car has been in the shop for 3 months. THIS IS FANTASTIC!!! Teslas are the BEST!!! I got a loaner car, so now I'm not putting extra miles on my own car! Thanks Elon! You think of EVERYTHING!"

"My car just burst into flame. BUT I HEARD SOMEONE GOT KILLED JUST DOWN THE ROAD TODAY!!! My Tesla gave it's life to protect me. It's clairvoyant!"

"My car delivery is now a year late. I'M SO JAZZED!! I'm going to get one that's vastly improved just for me!!"

It's bizarre.

The best thing I can compare it to is Cheerful Timmy.

Cheerful Timmy made everybody sick. No matter what happened, Timmy saw it as a good thing. So one year, Dad decided to teach Timmy about the real world. For Christmas, Dad had the nursery dump a ton of manure on the front lawn. Then Dad put a bow on it and a card: To Timmy, From Santa.

Christmas morning, Timmy looks under the tree. Nothing. He looks in backyard. Nothing. He looks in the front yard and see an 8' tall pile of crap with his name on it. Dad is snickering...

Timmy screams in joy and dives into the manure, flaying his arms.

Dad: "What you doing son????"

Timmy: "Dad? With this much horse poop, there has GOT to be a pony in here!!!"

BI from the article said:
For other customers, the extended wait for the Model 3 has made them more excited about the vehicle or given them time to prepare for its financial impact.

Erwin Lara, a fire safety and training consultant who lives in California, has waited over two years for the Model 3. That has given him plenty of time to decide which features he'll want and allowed him to finish paying for his wife's car.

"For my situation, it's worked out perfectly," he said.

Lara configured and ordered his Model 3 on Wednesday and was told by his local delivery center that it will arrive in around two months, he said.

I have a wife like this. She's the nicest person you'll ever meet. Sometimes I have to scold her about it. She could walk into a gunfight and not see what was happening until it was too late. But she laughs at all my jokes and I enjoy her bright smile, so she's a keeper.

The only thing that makes her mad is ignorant liberals. +1 - When you piss off a girl like this you're doing something wrong.
