Yesterday, my EV miles plummetted to 26.7 miles due to morning cold and me being in a hurry to get to where I was going because we were late. I'm going to miss the 40's. Spring can't come too soon.

Five more months. Mine started to come back in the second half of March.

Right before I went to South America for three weeks. :D

amazing how quick it drops! Those cool mornings and morning rush hour are a range killer!

Entering "a little bit of gas season".

Funny, our guess-o-meter said 45 today. Down about 4 from last week. It was pretty chilly today.
If you recall, a year ago, I threw caution to the wind and slapped on a set of 18" rims, deep treadded tires. I also stopped driving like a grandpa now going a little faster than the speed limit on highways. On the best of days I can get 36 miles of range at those speeds. I also take every opportunity to blow away pony cars off the line at stoplights.

Move south! Peak temperature was in the low 80's here today :) I suspect I will forget what the initialls ERDTT stand for living here :D

I declined an offer to move to Austin TX paid for by my company because I don't like extreme heat, can't afford the housing, and our roots are here. I'd be happy visit in the winter time, but I really like having 4 seasons.

Those Pony car drivers hate me too - especially when there is too much traffic ahead and
my Volt actually beats them up to 30 mph and they can't get ahead of me.

Yeah, I just didn't feel like beating you up about it. More likely it's the tires and the speeds you drive, and your car is older (smaller battery). But we're only down 5 miles from our usual peak number. Don't know how yours dropped off that much.

Too many pony cars this week?

I really enjoy hearing how hard their engines are working through their exhaust pipes while I quietly kick their butts. I especially enjoy smacking ricer boys with fart cans slapped onto 4 banger civics, Sentras, and corollas. A whole lot of noise, some nice wheels, maybe a big wing, but really no go. I have yet to run into an evo or wrxti, I wonder who'd win that 0-30 race.

Well no pony cars that particular morning, but it was 45 degrees and I was late, thus driving 76-78 mph. I still can't mathematically justify the added expense of a g2 despite the iridescent white one mocking me daily at the local Chevy dealership. I'm still when a suburban, though the new 2017 Silverado looks really nice.

Here in southern Illinois my AER has dropped a few miles. But I'm still very happy with my 2017 Volt. My GOM is now hovering around 66 miles down from 70.

Haven't had a really cold day yet but I made a trip into town during a heavy downpour and my range took a huge hit. Probably around 7 miles....for the trip in!

Lately I seem to be around a bunch of "Coal Rollers" <sigh>. Va State Police are cracking down on that but the country boys are still doing it. Still it's fun to have them belching and rumbling and all the noise and fury.....and I just glide by them from the stop light giving them the silent EV "finger" as it was.

When we had our 2014 Volt my wife during the winter with cold, rain, standing water on the roadway, a few times she could not make her 32 mile round trip to her business with the Volt without the gas engine kicking in. Now with our 2016 Volt that should not happen as even with fall conditions when she returns home she usually has 15 miles of range still left on the battery.

Today's result, 27.7 miles, 49 degrees, driving 72 mph. I miss the 30s...

Volts tend to attract coal rollers. One day I was backing out of a spot at Best Buy and a coal roller drove up, blocked my path, sat there for awhile gunning the engine, then drove off. What an idiot. All coal rollers need to just die of smoke inhalation.
