"Close your eyes. Imagine you're at the turn of the 20th century. A favorite broadsheet tells you that these new-fangled automobile gadgets are dangerous rattle traps that foul the air and that they are singularly profound failures!"

When it comes to emerging electric propulsion technology, I think Mr. Mandel 'hit-the-nail-on-the-head' with this piece!

Thank you for posting! From the article:

These “auto-mobiles” are powered by steam, electrics or gasoline! They terrorize the very horse-drawn carriages that have been the backbone of American transportation for hundreds of years! They are a costly new technology with no place on our roads. Bah-humbug.

Move forward to just a few weeks ago. The august voices of Washington Post editors pronounce the Chevrolet Volt a failure. As evidence, they say its technology has not been wholly embraced by consumers and its per-unit cost is extraordinarily onerous.
Today, we have the oil industry promoting reactionary attitudes through the distribution of disinformation. It should be noted that The Washington Post is now run by the Rupert Murdoch henchman who undid The Wall Street Journal's independence.

Marketing The Volt- 11 Months of Beta Testing- 7 Markets Only-

Often in this forum we comment on what appears to be an all to slow production and availabley ramp-up. As The Amazing Chevy Volt E.R.E.V. is the most technologicaly advanced mass produced machine ever built, its designers and brand deployment experts took great paines to establish a complete customer satisfaction rollout.

Do you recall that Volt was only available for sale in 7 markets from December, 2010 through the end of July,2011?

Chevrolet wanted to make sure that all dealers had the trained Voltec mechanics, that a well educated and available customer service network was established and that all dealers nationwide, with their own permanate Demo/Training Volts at least had a grasp of the product.

As the graph below shows the Volt rollout by states. Look at the sheer number of states that could not sell a new Volt until November of last year.

In these last 11 1/2 half months since full nationwide deployment we have seen over 135,000,000 miles driven by Owners and Lessors of Volt in North America acording to Chevrolet.com/Volt -OnStar data dump.

Lest we forget-
