Should I have received some sort of binder or sleeve for the manual for my new Volt?

... Because I didn't. Just a zip-lock baggie with the manual(s) given me at closing. Nothing to keep them all nice and together in the glove compartment.

no, just a newsprint, thin paper manual and the infotainment book and the EVSE book.. this is the "way of the world" now, our last Toyota (2011) did not have any binder either. though our 98 ford had a useful protective zippered vinyl cover set for the books- go figure... they really expect that most new car buyers throw the manual out or never open it anyway and that anyone who wants to look at it will read it online on their phone. printed publications are on their way out- sadly perhaps, but true...

The dealer provided a cheap vinyl 3-fold cover / binder but I want to replace it with something nicer, I'd have preferred the Ziplock. My Jeep has the best manual case I've ever had. It's canvas with a velcro strap to keep it shut. The Highland one that erewhon linked to above looks ok. I'll have to see what i can pick up locally first though.

I just re-read your question- The answer is "yes, we all should have received some sort of better owners manual packaging and presentation".. But Chevy chose not to...

Quart size ziploc bag will do the trick...stick it in the passenger door...

Pete has it right...use the PDF online version...easier to find answers...:)

Since the index in the manual is usually pretty poor, I prefer the pdf version anyway. Much easier to find what you are looking for.

I got two charge cord user's guides, each with their own ziploc; one was in the larger ziploc with the other manuals, and the other was attached to the charge cord itself. Would have preferred two cords and one manual. Oh well, luck of the draw...
