Attempted break-in to my 2012 Volt and the glass is shattered completely but still in frame. My insurance policy is with Geico. Anyone have experience with this? I'm worried that they won't be able to replace it with the original glass that it came with. Is there a way to replace it with the original glass or will insurance not cover this? Thanks in advance for any advice! Currently waiting in total anxiety for Geico to call me back.

This happened to me the second month I owned my 2012. Since Volts were very new at that time, they replaced the windows with GM OEM glass - there were no cheaper generic replacements. Word of warning, make sure the body shop opens the door panel and gets out all of the pieces of glass inside. Otherwise, you will get rattling. I found chunks of glass for three months - it gets everywhere inside the car.

Why wouldn't they be able to replace it with OEM glass? Patience.....
